So, we got our free tickets to The Daily Show before we realized that Jon Stewart was taking a three month absence, but were thrilled to learn that John Oliver would be taking over!
We arrived at 1:00 pm just to make sure we would actually get in, and sat down in line against a wall. There we waited for a couple hours until a little after 2:30, (which was when they began to distribute tickets).
When we returned, they had corralled the guests into small waiting areas based on the number you were given. They quickly went over the rules and procedure of the taping and began to let us in by our color and number.
Once inside, we were searched and put through metal detectors. We were led into the cool studio and were placed in the first row! It was another hour or two before the show started, but we were given a photo friendly window in which we were allowed to take pictures.
Before the show started, a comedian came out to warm up the audience. He was hilarious!
Thankfully, the show was really entertaining and well worth the wait! It was exciting to see how the mechanics of the show worked, and John Oliver was fantastic!
Here are some tips if you plan on getting tickets!
